Why do we need exams anyway? And other stuff.

  • Mood: Regretful
  • Listening to: The Crossfire audio-drama.
  • Reading: Lots of different stuff before my exam.
  • Watching: MST3K and Rebuild of Evangelion.
  • Drinking: Tea.
Hi again.

Uff, my exam and essay-deadline is closing in and I have quite a lot to read and write. That's primearly my own fault for being very on-and-off when it comes to reading and writing this semester, so I have only myself to blame.:P But I've always made it before and I will probably make it this time too, unless something terrible happens.:-) I'm always very affraid of forgetting something that is needed in the damn paper-mill that todays society is. Like forgetting a code that makes my essay not go through. I miss my time in the army, when these kinds of things were either fixed for you or you were ordered to do them.:P

I've also gotten rejected by the first girl I've ever dared to ask out on a date.:-( I'm kind of sad about it, but I hope she will continue to be my friend. Shure, it hurts a little to get turned down like that, but life goes on. What dosen't kill you makes you stronger.:-)

The main reason I post today is because I've finally recived my tattoo-design made by the truly talented :icondarklion612: and it looks amazing.:D She's going to post the design on her DA-page sometime in the future, so pay a visit to her and her amazing art.:-)
Now that I have the design, I just need to find someone to tattoo me. I'll probably do it sometime after christmas.:-)

I've also got hold of the awesome Crossfire Audio-drama that came with the japanese Limited Edition of Hellsing OVA 6, thanks to :iconthe4gotten:. I have no idea what they are saying most of the time, but the soundeffects, music and acting are great and it's really nice to listen to it while reading the manga. I've always been a hugh fan of audio-dramas and grew up listening to crime- and mystery-stories on the radio-theater.:D

I've also finally seen all of Neon Genesis Evangelion and I must say that I liked it. Sure, it wasn't as fantastic as some say, but not as bad as others say either. The ending was silly, but thankfully the movie fixed it in a great way. I've also seen the 2 new Rebuild-movies which mixes up things togther with awesome animation and I liked them too. I miss some great scenes from the original series, but all in all the characters act more mature and it's still a really good watch. I'm looking foreward to the next 2.:-)

That's all for now I guess. Better get back to all the reading and writing that needs to be done. And watching some MST3K episodes when I need a break.:D
Until next time, have a great december.:-)

Autumn is pretty nice. Positive things.

  • Reading: Should be reading Le Misanthrope.:P
  • Watching: Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Hi again.
It's been a while since I updated this and considering I've had a fun couple of weeks I though I should write a bit.:-)
On the 24th of October I went to Trondheim with my mom and sister to see the Gåte reunion concert. And it was simply amazing. Gåte is a band that mixes metal, folk-rock and other genres into something truly different and awesome and is my all time favourite band. Sadly, I had never before seen them live so I was really happy when I managed to get tickets to this. And I was not dissapointed. Gunnhild Sundli's beautiful and powerful voice, Magnus Børmark's awesome guitar-skills (seriously, the guy plays like he was possesed), Sveinung Sundli playing the fiddle, Gjermund Landrø's great bass and Kenneth Kapstad's powerful drums. Just wow.:D

Also, this saturday I went to see the "Walking with dinosaurs" show with my little brother and we had a great time. Seeing those awesome animatronic dinosaurs made me feel like I was a little kid again who had just seen Jurassic Park.:-) My little brother liked it too, although he got a little hung up in the fact that the baby t-rex didn't have feathers like he had heard that they had on tv.:P Oh well.:-)

I didn't do anything special on Halloween (and after all, Halloween isn't that big here in Norway anyway). There wasn't any partys that I could go to and I didn't have a costume, so I spent the night watching movies with a friend. We saw "Trick r' Treat", a fun little horror/black comedy movie which followed 4 stories on Halloween that somtimes crossed over with each other. It was both scary, funny, the actors and effects where great and it was all really well made. It reminded me of the time when Horror-movies where clever and fun and not just gorefests with douchbag characters that you can't wait to see die.:P
I also went to the cinema and saw Zombieland, one of (if not THE) funniest movie I've seen all year. It was both a great zombie-movie and comedy and with great characters. Woody Harrelson's Tallahassee is the greatest zombie-hunter since Bruce Cambell's Ash. The movie both makes fun of and pays tribute to a lot of the zombie-chlichés which I found to be great, considering I've seen my fare share of zombie-movies and played a hell of a lot of RE and L4D.:D If your a zombie-fan or simply enjoy a good comedy, you should definitly see this one.
I've also fianlly made good of my promiss to see Evangelion and I'm at episode 4 now. I think it's ok so far, but there's still lot's of episodes left. I also have to finish "The Gun Seller" by Hugh Laurie. It's a really funny book and it's nice to see that Mr.Laurie writes just as good as he acts.:D

I'm also waitning on a tattoo-design that I commissioned from :icondarklion612: . I haven't heared from her in a while, but I guess she's buissy with other stuff. The early sketches looked great though and I'm really looking foreward to see the finished result.:D

My studies are going ok, although I'm as lazy as always.:P I need to read through some more books and finish one essay and redo another one. It won't be that hard if I can just begin to write.XD I definilty should be working a bit more focused, but I think I'll pull trough. I always do.:-) I've got some great friends here and we help each other with these sort of things.:D

I guess that's all for now folks. I haven't drawn anything in a while, both because I'm lazy and because I'm just not that inspiered right now. No-ones probably going to lose their sleep over this, but DA exists after to post art.:P I hope everyone who care to read this are ok and have a nice autumn.:-)

I really should be reading now.

Hello again.
I thought it was about time for me to make a new journal (though I highly doubt anyone have been holding their breath in anticipation XD). I've lived in Oslo for 3 weeks now and I think things have gone pretty well. My apartment is small, but functional and despite some mess made by the neighbours in the common kitchen I like it.:-)
My studies have gone well so far, but it's a little hard to get used to the freedom. I should be reading books now instead of being on DA and watching Higurashi on my pc, but shit happens. In time I'll get tierd of just wasting time and will begin to work seriously. You just wait and see.
I've also met lots of cool and nice people at the university. Usually I have some problems getting to know new people, but this time I've managed to get many new friends.:D¨

Recently I saw both Inglourious Basterds and Ponyo, to very different films that I simply loved. Basterds takes Tarantino's love of great dialog and violence to new hights, while Ponyo is a beautful fairytale from the genuis Miazaki. Shure, some of the scenes in Basterds may drag a little and Ponyo may be a little to "kiddy" for some people, but I still found them to be amazing movies.:D The Jewhunter, the Bearjew, Ponyo and Fujimoto FTW.XD
I finally got my greacey hands on Shadow of the Collosus recently, but now I have nothing to play it on. I miss my dear PS2 back home so much.:-( Perhaps I can get my family to send it when they get back home from Croatia. That's right. While I rot at the university, they are down in Croatia enjoying themselves. Shure, it was my own choice to stay, but still...
I'm also hooked on Higurashi again. I just can't get enough of cute anime-girls going insane and kill each other.:D I have some ideas for some fanart that I may draw later. I haven't drawn anything in a while, but I don't have a scanner here. Still, I should start again for training if nothing else.

That's all for now. I say "thank you" to anyone who have cared to read through all of this. I'll see you next time.:-)

Army's over! I'm back in the real world.

That's right. After (almost) a year, I'm done with my time in the Norwegian military. It's been a strange time, with lot's of different experiences. Some have been really fun, some exausting and some downright torturous, but even those weren't so bad in hindsight. One thing I can say is that I wouldn't change this year in any way. It's been a great year and I've learened a lot and I feel that I have become a stronger person.:-) I've met a lot of great people and new friends during this year and I hope I manage to stay in toutch with them.:D
After the summer I'm moving to Oslo to study litterature. I bet it's going to be very interesting (or so I hope). I'm going to get the keys to my on Tuesday and I'm really looking foreward to take a closer look at the place.

I also got me a summer job (finally). I'm helping out at a local home for old people with mental disabilities. It's actually a pretty good job with many nice people, despite the fact that I have to help people who can even wash themselves. But they are greatfull and it feels rewarding to help them. It also makes me think a lot on how some of us are born just a tad luckier than others, that I could easily have been like them or end up as them if I get alzheimers or something... But they are all very nice people and I think I will enjoy this job.:-)

In other news, I've seen Drag Me To Hell, which was awesome. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time and definitly one of the best horror-movies I've seen ever. I'm a hugh fan of the Evil Dead movies, and the same Raimi-magic is in this movie. Rarely have I been so scared and laughed so hard because of one movie. You should definitly go see it. The only thing it lacks is a cameo from Bruce Cambell and maybe a few changes to the ending. That would have made the movie perfect.:D
Tomorrow I'm going to see Brüno with my friends. I thought Borat was awesome and if this movie is just half as good, then it will still be a great time.:-)

I also went crazy when I went to a Gamestop looking for Shadow of the Collosus. I've been looking almost everywhere for that game after I finished ICO (which is one of the best games EVER), but I have yet to find it (I guess I'll have to buy it online). But what I DID find was a lot of great used games, like Okami, Kya, Beyond Good and Evil and others. I ended up with buying 7 games for just 480 norwegian kroner, which in my eyes is a pretty good deal.:-) Still, my search for SOTC continues.

That's all for now. I wish you all a great summer.:-)

Today is a special day.

Today is indeed a special day, because it's the birthday of a very funny, smart and cool person...
Thats right! HUGH LAURIE!!
AND MY DOG!!!
AND ME AS WELL!!!!XD

That's right. Today is my 20th birthday. Man, to think I've walked this earth for 20 years already... I feel so old.:-( But then I remember that I'm old enough to buy liquor and feel like a stupid teen again.:D It's amazing how you get to old to do some things, but at the same time get old enough to do lots of new things. I will try my best to use my 20th year to explore some of these new things. E.g I intend to go to the Norwegian Rock Festival this summer and if I'm lucky I can make it in time to see both In Flames, Arch Enemy and Manowar.\m/:D

I also intend to be as childish as always this year, mainly because I didn't really get to be childish when I was little. Therefore I shall watch as many cartoons, play as many videogames and read as many comics as before. And read books and manga and see anime and movies too of course.:-)

Also, in just about a month, I'm finished with my time in the army. It's amazing how fast nearly a year in "the Kings clothes" has based by. But more on that another time.:-)

All in all, I hope that I'll have a just as good time this year as in the last year, maybe even more. And I also wish a happy birthday to Hugh Laurie (you kick ass man!), my dog Chivas (good girl!) and everyone else who has their birthday today.:D
